Amber Origins

Baltic Amber

Amber is a fossil resin produced by Pine trees that grew in Northern Europe. Coming from the shores of the Baltic Sea, which has the world's largest Amber deposits, Baltic amber makes beautiful jewelry and is known worldwide for its unique healing property. What makes Baltic amber suitable for a teething necklace's, bracelet's, necklace's, rosarie's or any other good is the presence of high levels of succinic acid, which is an antioxidant that boosts the immune system and has been a natural remedy of pain relief and inflammation. Whether they make them at home or purchase online, there are only a few steps between buyers and their own amber necklaces.

Dominican Amber

Dominican Amber is amber from Dominican Republic. Resin source is found from the extinct tree Hymenaea protera and it's most amber found in the tropics.
Dominican Amber differentiates itself from Baltic Amber by being nearly always transparent and it has a higher number of fossil inclusions. This has enabled the detailed reconstruction of ecosystem of a long vanished tropical forest. Dominican amber is more fluorescent under UV than Baltic amber. This is one of the reasons why its so loved by it's buyers. Dominican amber also tends to be untreated when it comes to market. It is typically called green or blue amber on the market. The blue or green is actually a reflected color, and thus, it is possible to have a cognac piece that fluoresces blue. Light that passes through the amber piece retains the amber’s actual colour.
